On the "real ACA," the local one.......hats off to Henry, once
again. He was down at the track, EARLY, with Fred. Even in 30 MPH wind, lining
up papers, signing in people, readying things for the first of the race. We were
able to get started, close to on time, which is short of a miracle. Again, a
real pat on the back and thank you to Henry and Fred to getting things going
yesterday. Nice job.
It was Windsday for sure, and quite cold. Still, the sun was out and everyone in
good spirits. The new look, team-mergedTri-fit was at least half of the B-Field,
which quickly shattered apart in the wind. A lot of people were not working, and
we lost half of them quickly. After taking several pulls, and chasing down a
couple of people, three riders went off. I was gassed, and couldn't respond. I
tried several times to get in front of the blockers, and start a chase. I even
yelled at Brandon for screwing up the race. I finished with the chase pack, in
ninth, but raced in the front alot. It was a had a good workout, but frustrating
with Tri-Fit's. The season is young.
Henry was impressive in his first race as an A. He patrolled the pack well,
helped chase down the lead group towards the end and finished in patented Flying
200 sprint form for a seventh place showing. Nice work, Henry!
I was questioned, several times, even by Mark Powder, as to the whereabouts of
the rest of the team. I explained that you were all high-altitude training.
I hope to see more green & orange next week.
