Check out our "team" debut in the "A"s - HD with a top 10 finish - very
respectable any night in A's or B's, but given that last night's field
included Joe Papp, Mike Friedman, and Ryan Mele, it is exceptionally
impressive. The last 3 laps we just flew - very difficult to work to the
front and be positioned for the sprint.

For me, I got off in a break with Papp and a guy from NHV, Fu, Sci Fit, and
Ray Rusell. We put a serious gap on the field and then 3 guys quit working!
Russell, myself and the NHV guy tried to keep it going but the other 3 guys
were along for the ride. Disappointing because it could have been the winning
break. But that's bike racing!

A fun night - the A field is more aggressive with the constant attacks - but
you never question that a RACE is going on!

Postscript: I was standing at the top of turn 2 watching the Bs finish when
some d-bag took out Turner Johnson's wheel with 3 laps to go. He augered in
HARD with his head...trashed the helmet in 3 places - worked just like it's
supposed to. He got up bleeding from a cut on his head, and he'll feel
several spots of road rash for a while. But in the end no worse for the wear
- he'll race another day. Soon.

It was cool to watch him up there from my front row seat blocking the peleton with Team Fu.  It put a real smile on my face, knowing that I only had to ride at 22+, when they were all up there riding at 25+!!!

Despite FoxVelo's limited numbers (2!), the Orange and Green made it's mark in the break and the sprint, showing the threat of our depth...all 6" of it!!!
